I've recently heard of something called "The Duel of Tarfe and Garcilasso" where a solider kills a much larger Moor warrior in battle. Where can I learn more about this?

Recently, I was surprised to find out that Genocide, in it's modern usage, doesn't apply to just racially/ethnically based killings, but any mass targeted killing in general. How did the shift in meaning from it's original definition occur?
