As you move around the unit circle with circumference tau, the sine ratio oscillates 0, 1, 0, -1, 0. When you plot the sine wave, its period is still tau, but since the wave oscillates above & below the x-axis its curve length is longer than tau. What does this extra length correspond to in physics?
