Whatever happened to the Slavic slaves (“Saqaliba”) brought over to Iberia? Are there any legacies left behind, or traces of Slavic dna amongst some Iberians?

Someone once told me that one of the reasons Belgian Congo treated rubber “workers” so harshly was because they were once slavers, and the Belgians took those slavers’ slaves and put them in charge of keeping the once slavers in line. Is there any truth to this statement?

How did the Lithuanians, a relatively small ethnic group, come to dominate almost all of Eastern Europe? Were they that great at war or was the land barren? What did the other Europeans think of their conquest?

Katanga seemed to be a state created solely by the will of the people. Both poor and rich Whites and Blacks fought alongside one another to protect the land and ensure it's independence from the Congo. If this is true, why exactly did the UN fight so hard to bring Katanga down?
