My mom has vivid memories of the Eurythmics’ music video for “Sweet Dreams” being impactful because the video was very abstract and surreal. Is this where music videos became an art form in and of themselves and loved beyond a basic video of bands jamming onstage or a linear story like “Thriller?”

I recall reading somewhere that when the concentration camps were liberated, volunteers/nurses and medics tried to help the surgiría by doing their make up and hair, in effect to show them they saw them as people. Was this a one time event? How did medics go about treating survivors emotionally?

In the US (though I assume the world too) being genetically related to someone is the basis on which money, power, right to rule etc rests. How did someone (a prince, mother, etc) prove they were who they claimed before DNA was known?

John Watson fought in the Battle of Miawand before being injured and sent home to London. What could a veteran expect once he returned home, socially and government-wise? Were disfigured veterans treated with honor, or disgust and fear? Did any women serve as nurses or cooks at Miawand?

Why did Roosevelt create National Parks in the 1920s, meaning why did he care about the “preservation” of land? My impression of the time period was industrial countries didn’t care at all about land, only the natural resources that could be extracted
