In statistics, how do you determine whether a sample size is large enough? I know n = 30 is a magic number in statistics but I don’t know when it does/doesn’t apply.

Is it unwise to assume alien plants would also use CO2 and that alien animals would use O2? Couldn’t they have some other bodily system?

“50% bigger” and “150% bigger” sound synonymous to me. Is “50% bigger” actually smaller or is this just a poorly-worded ambiguous idea?
