During the Cold War, why didn't Aeroflot/Soviet civil aviation learn from the safety mistakes of other countries' airlines, the way other countries for the most part seemed to learn from each other? Was there a lack of access? Or a lack of interest?

What do we know about Bronze Age Minoan, Mycenaean, etc. textile dyes? Historical reenactment people & old "ancient arms & armor" artists seem fond of red (helmet plumes, cloth backing for armor, etc.). Is this based on material or artistic evidence or just a convention?
