I’m a Christian investigating Islam. Can you please share books that I should look at first that are from a neutral standpoint (so that their main goal isn’t trying to convert me/debunk Islam), and are reliable?

when the Quran refers to the torah and injeel, is it referring to the modern day gospels and torah or is it referring to some esoteric books that christians/jews had in 7th century hijaz?
