[WP]Aliens invade Earth. Unfortunately they hadn't considered Earth's ancient system of bunkers meant to protect all it's creatures in case of emergency, who spontaneously gained the knowledge of how to navigate them. The earthling seem to refer to them as... The Backrooms.
