[WP] The world is heavily irradiated and destroyed in nuclear fire, with only a few survivors living deep underground and dreaming of a clean surface. Thousands of years later they send a probe to the surface but, instead of a resurgence in plant life, the dominant lifeform is a pitch black fungus.
