[WP] The aliens thought they'd been un-noticed as they began the invasion, this was untrue. When the first dropships entered the atmosphere they were quickly fired upon. The alien armada in orbit retreated and the wreckage was salvaged. This was not a warship. It was a diplomat's ship.
