[WP] It was common practice for tribes and civilizations to banish gods, monsters, powerful artifacts, and the like to the deepest depths of the ocean. Unknowingly, they've all been using the exact same spot, so stuff has just been piling up somewhere in the ocean over the past few millenniums.
