[WP] A solar flare strikes the Earth, glassing the planet and annihilating humans. Aliens come upon Earth and begin mining the surface for 'sunglass,' an almost indestructible material, but certain pieces of sunglass contain imprints of human minds, causing things created with it to gain sentience.
