[EU] Dwarf Fortress takes place in a far-future, post-apocalyptic Earth. Evil biomes are heavily irradiated areas. Old sites are the ruins of ancient human cities. Beastfolk were uplifted from animal intelligence, out of fear of humanity going extinct.
