[WP] If someone fails to answer the Sphinx's riddle they get devoured, the rules are immutable. The problem is the newest sphinx is a vegetarian and asks the easiest riddles to avoid the awkwardness of failing to eat a person. They even give clues if idiots have a hard time with one.
