[WP] Civilization was collapsing by the time the sleeper ship left the Earth. The FTL Drive was only a prototype but between a quick painless death or a slow agony, it was easy to make a decision. Something went wrong during the Jump, you are now orbiting the Earth, 250 million years from 2050.
