[WP] The algae began showing signs of being sentient about halfway through the 12 year voyage to the Epsilon Eridani system. It's responsible for 65% of the Oxygen/CO2 Exchange and serves as an emergency nutrition source, but you have no choice. You have to tell the Commander.
