[WP] The "Uncanny Valley Effect" works on a bell curve. If something is in the middle, they're considered 'human' and are 'safe.' If they don't look human ENOUGH, the flaws set off warning bells in people's minds. However, if something is TOO perfect, the perfection sets off warning bells as well.
