Why didn't Hannibal take out Scipio's forces that were coming out of Massilia before crossing the Alps? He out numbered Scipio's forces in infantry and calvary and it would've left the march onto Rome defenseless. Especially since Scipio went on to take back Roman lands in Iberia.
