The Kingdom of Dahomey had a standing corps of all-female warriors who were feared in battle. How were they formed? Was this unique in 19th century West Africa or was there a larger tradition of "Amazons" in the region?

Did indigenous people (ie Sami, Inuit, Siberian, etc) of the Artic Circle have contact with each other before Europeans settled in the New World?

Is it true that Mexicans who weren't pure Native Mexicans were considered white by American law even if they had brown skin and enjoyed the same rights (voting, elected office, white wives, etc) as white counterparts until the 1930s, when Mexicans were scapegoated economic problems?

When and why did slavery go from being about whoever you could enslave to being specifically about their race?

In the first Punic War (264-241 BCE); Rome lost its whole 100k-man navy in 255 BCE, then kept fighting. The First Crusade (1095-1099 CE) had something like a 50k crusaders — a massive army at the time. Where’d Rome get all of those soldiers? Did they just fudge the numbers?

In the 1960s, Texas passed a law criminalizing the display of the United Nations Flag. Billboards in Texas demanded the country leave the UN, and apparently it was seen as some kind of Communist organization. Why did Texas hate the UN so much, and why were people convinced it was a communist plot?
