Hello guys we have an old telephone box from verizon mounted on the side of the house with the line to the pole. Not in use anymore and i want to take it off and to abandon the line do I call Verizon to do this? It was for land line phones in the whole house

Can we attach the mailbox to the post before setting in concrete or does it has to be just the post while the concrete cures?
