Doris Dorie Miller of Waco Texas. For his actions 80 years ago today Miller would become the first African-American to receive the Navy Cross. Sadly Miller would be killed less than 2 years later in November 1943.

Traveling salesman in Forreston in Ellis County, 1905. Watkins, based out of Minnesota, is still in business today, selling spices and other baking goods.

Hello Historians. I am personally interested in getting an outfit similar to what worn by the Texian Army in the revolution. I am a Scandinavian so don’t really know what would make a good impression but in y’all’s eyes is this good?
