My marigolds are all dried up. I think from overwatering and not enough drainage holes in this container. If i repot and drill more holes, will they bounce back?

Why are the big stems in the back of this salvia not blooming? Can i cut the big middle one at the base and propagate in water? I planted it early this year. This is second bloom. Rearranged and moving and splitting everything next year.

Whats the best time to buy garden soil? In ground soil, potting mix, raised bed mix? Does everything go on sale at the end of this summer? Ill stock up for next summer. Soil doesnt go bad if stored inside through winter does it?
