Why did Haiti pay so much out to France after the former gained its independence? Why would an ostensible victim of aggression, colonisation and racism - pay out to the aggressor having defeated them and kicked them out? Thank you.

Who really brought Christianity to the British Isles? When did Christianity become embedded in society in the British Isles - before the Roman invasions or afterwards? Is it wholly accurate to describe the land upon the death of Alfred the Great as predominantly Christian?

Why did Hitler not use the Jews and other groups considered by the Nazis to be 'Undesirables' as a work force? Especially in manufacturing for the war effort being fought on both fronts, or supporting supply lines. Surely it would have boosted his chances against the Allies and the Red Army?
