In an episode of Doctor Who that takes place during the Battle of Britain WW2, the story focuses on homeless children who, while the homeowners are in their bomb shelters, go and eat the fresh food from inside the home. Did this ever actually happen, if so how often?

The French Revolution established Democracy in France in the 1790’s. As I understand, it became a monarchy (?) when Napoleon took over. After France was beaten in the Napoleonic Wars, and a King was installed, did the British/Prussians attempt to keep that king in power when France went democratic?

In the south prior to the American civil war, what kinds of tropes were used in books surrounding the behavior of African American Slaves of the time? How about in the North?

Following WW2, when Germany was split between the 4 allied powers, was American occupied Germany an American territory? How was it designated? Were its residents German Citizens or American citizens? Could an American travel there as if they were going to say Guam or Puerto Rico?
