What civilisation existed before Sumer? I know a little bit about Jericho & Cathalhoyuk, but I’m not too sure about anything else & can’t find too much around the internet

When does recorded history begin to be actual history & not majority-myth? I was looking into the earliest of recorded history and found the Sumerian kings list, only to find out that it listed some kings as ruling for 10s of 1000s of years; where should I look for the earliest factual history?

Which is the oldest Sumerian city-state? I’ve been scouring the internet in search of a solid answer, however, I find some sources claiming that Eridu was the first, while others claim that it was Uruk. Any expansion into how we can know which came first would also be greatly appreciated

To expand on a previous post I made - what society/civilisation/static communities predate Sumer? I’m looking for names like Jericho & a little more info about them; I don’t much care about the definition of the words; I just want to know about the different city states and the like in pre history

I’m wanting to start a youtube series on history - to begin with, I want to take my surface-level understanding of history and apply it to a structured framework, but I’m having a hard time: what system do you prefer for periodisation and why?? (preferable Mediterranean, European & West Asian)
