[WP] Science has spent years trying to give an explanation to the stories told of wizards and witches in medieval times, but when you build a time machine and travel back to what is believed to be Camelot, you find that it's really just magic.

Aliens return to Earth and are surprised to find that we can no longer use magic like they taught our ancestors to. They decide to try and teach us again, showing us how to create fire and ease pain, but very few are interested-- that is, until the US military hears about enchanting weapons.
