It's pretty common nowadays for names to go out of fashion. When this happens, those names become associated with antiquity and become "uncool". Was this always the case? Do you know of any case in history in which a name was "mocked" because of being old-fashioned?

The expression "long time no see" to me sounds like it's something in broken english; something someone like Tarzan would utter. When did this expression first start being used? Is there a reason why it's so... minimalistic?

Throughout the 19th century it seems to me that the automobile went from being slow and clunky to being ready to overthrow the old style of transportation in the next century. What was the public's reaction to this advancement? Was there always an "ideal" of a fully motorized society?
