Theoretically, if there was a hole on earth that went from the north pole to the south pole and someone jump in it, what would happen to that person once they passed the center of the earth?

Theoretical Question: Imagine a massive metal beam pole was built on the moon and it was so tall that it stretched almost the entire distance to earth ending up short by 500ft. Would the pole seem as if it is traveling at a high speed due to the rotation of the earth and it being based on the moon?
