Since speed is relative to the observer, if an object was moving 50% the speed of light in the opposite direction of something also moving 50% the speed of light, wouldn't both objects be moving at the speed of light when compared by eachother?

My understanding is that light is always moving at the speed of light unless it's passing through something.
