Why do chrome, or mirror, surfaces get so hot in the sunlight? Dark colored surfaces absorb more heat and lighter colored surfaces reflect more heat. By this logic, chrome surfaces should be less hot than a white surface in the sun, but chrome surfaces are often hotter to the touch.
