There were more than a million people living in Rome in the year 210. How exactly could such a huge city function in a time before cars or subways? How did transportation work? Did Rome have horse-traffic jams?

WWII started when the UK and France declared war on Germany for attacking Poland. But why didn't they also declare war on the Soviet Union? The USSR also attacked Poland. And the free and democratic Finland as well.

In the German federal election of July 1932 NSDAP won 37.27% of the popular votes. In November of the same year they got 33.09% of the vote. I.e they got more than 2 million less votes. What was the reason for this fall?
