TIL In 1999, Baxter International ran a trial for a product called "HemAssist". "Of the 52 critically ill patients given the substitute, 24 died, representing a 46.2 percent mortality rate." These patients were never informed of the trial and never gave their consent. Per the FDA it was 100% Legal.
