I've heard that in Ancient Greece the Olympics were held in such high regard that not even wars would stop the event from taking place. Is this true? Did the Olympics take place during the Peloponnesian War?

I'm am impoverished Englishman in late 19th Century London. I miraculously get a ticket to see an Arthur Sullivan musical. When I show up how can they tell if my ticket is fake or not? If my ticket is real but my dress poor am I still let in?

Ancient Egyptians were known for drinking lots of beer because it was more healthy and safe than the drinking water available to them. How did they not get exponentially dehydrated living in the Sahara desert by drinking so much beer? Did excessive drinking severely affect their health?
