How do historians identify who a marble bust is representing? Obviously sometimes it’s obvious or they have a name carved in, but what about when it’s just a bust of a man and historians are able to confidently say this is blank king etc?

It is widely said that Alexander the Great suffered from many battle wounds. How were wounds treated back then? How did Macedonians deal with infections and other consequences of wounds? How did he even manage to survive so many wounds during a time where a small one could be fatal?

Why did Alexander the Great decide to look up to Achilles instead of Heracles? He could trace lineage to both and both could be seen as conquerors of the East. Was Heracles not seen as a greater hero and someone you would want to look up to instead?
