How many mm does it usually take for the sutures to split? (Mse)

How many mm should i expand my maxilla with mse? I’m considering 3mm because i think it’s enough for my suture to split so i can use facemask to correct my underbite. But at the same time i dont want to mess up my face proportion after mse because my mandible is already small compared to my maxilla
