What is this hole for in my cabinets? The hole is approximately 3/4”x 2” and there is no outlet underneath and the hole seems to be too small to put a standard plug for an electrical cord through.

What is the purpose of this countertop? It’s part of a built in desk and has a hole in the back that is approximately 3/4”x 2” and appears too small to pass a normal size electrical cord through. There are no outlets under this countertop either.
