Aside from the practicality of transporting a rocket to the north or south pole. Would it be more or less efficient to launch a rocket there due to the nature of the atmosphere?

They say sharks can smell a drop of blood from miles away, but what's the time frame and what do they smell? How fast does said scent diffuse through different water salinities?

Current atmospheric CO2 levels have just surpassed 410 ppm. The historical data for [CO2] comes from tapped air bubbles in ice cores. Is the current CO2 level measured at the same location the ice would be trapping bubbles today? How fast does the atmosphere equilibrate CO2?
