[WP] Unfortunately uniting Earth and achieving space travel did nothing to lessen humanity's violent tendencies and so, when we made first contact, we were quite embarrassed by our history of violence. Only to be horrified that, even with this history, humans are still the pacifists of the galaxy.

[WP] Life is *incredibly* common in the galaxy. So much so, that it is impossible for one species to live without killing millions of other, possibly sentient, lifeforms. As the newcomers humanity now has to justify to the galactic senate why they should allow our species continued existence.

[WP] Both the hero and the villain are fed up with their constant fights and so both decide to let the other win the next fight. This results in: 1) the most pathetic fight in the history of hero-villain fights and 2) the hero and the villain bonding over their shared misery.
