I have a very long tube full of solid, indestructible, incompressible balls. If I put another in, due to the speed of sound not being instant, it'll be a few moments before another ball pops out the other side. I put in a ball and close both ends of the tube simultaneously. What happens?

According to the Wikipedia page on PTSD, 3.5% of adults in the US have PTSD in a given year, and for most other countries that number is 0.5-1%. Why is that number so high in the US?

To move, we turn chemical energy in our cells into mechanical energy. Does this mean that if we eat too little, we will reach a point where we physically cannot move regardless of willpower? Or will we starve long before that point?

Sometimes when I’m bored I’ll sing to myself. Many other mammals seem to like human music and possess the right organs to make musical sounds. Why is it that almost no other animals seem to sing or hum even basic melodies when bored?

We learned in physics class that everywhere is the center of the universe. How does that make sense? If I keep going in one direction I’ll eventually run out of things to see, right? Wouldn’t the actual center be a specific place?

When people are curious or unsure, they end their statements on a higher pitch. When they’re talking about something sad, low pitch. My cats meow with the same pitch shift when confused (high) or sad (low). Is this universal? Why?
