Whenever I have asked a doctor why our joints sometimes 'crack' they dismissively say "it's just air in the joint". So, how on earth does the "air" get IN there, and indeed keep coming back?!

Why do brambles have thorns AND delicious fruit? Surely the fruit is there so animals will eat it and spread the seeds, so why guard it and discourage them from eating the fruit with sharp thorns?

Water is converted into steam at 100 deg. centigrade. Than how does water from water bodies evaporate to form clouds when temperature on earth doesn't cross even 50 deg. centigrade?

Can we know exactly what gender a fly is when it is flying in the front of our face? If not, how can you tell th gender of a fly?

We have a French Dresser in our hall, about two inches in front of the central heating radiator. I think that the heat from the radiator is being wasted by heating the dresser. My Wife argues that the dresser itself is in the hall and heat will be coming from it so is not wasted. Who is correct?
