What's the point of the point of opting for the lateral development (Kd7) of the knight instead of "classic" one. Engine gives slight 0.2 advantage to white on Kc6. Wouldn't it, this example, allow for better central control on d4 and e5?

What's the point of opting for lateral development (Kd7) of the knight instead of "classic" one. Engine gives slight 0.2 advantage to white on Kc6 (and equalish for Kd7). Wouldn't it, in this example, allow for better central control on d4 and e5?
