A little sparrow came down for a drink while I was weeding a couple feet away, and I actually had my phone on me for a photo! Note that adding rocks to my bird bath has brought a lot more birds, and I've seen wasps drinking as well.

All my current garden pictures from today. I love this new hobby. Western NYS, zone 6. I had this border garden put in by a landscaper last October, and then I supplied the plants. Some from nursery, some from county conservation sale, some from seeds sown last spring, some started inside in winter

What is it? Is it Shrubby St. John's Wort? Goldenrod? An unwanted weed? There are three of these growing in this area, where I likely planted St John's Wort, possibly planted Showy Goldenrod or Obedient Plant. My hand is behind it so it's easier to see. No scent, glossy feeling leaves. NYS.
