What is the actual evidence we have regarding the 'cardioprotective' and vascular benefits of alcohol? Is one alcoholic drink per day truly beneficial, or are the "studies" people refer to simply failing to control for confounding variables?

I just watched Armageddon and it got me thinking, if an apocalyptic-sized asteroid were on a collision course with Earth, does Nasa have any plans in place to destroy it before contact? Or would we actually all be screwed?

Theoretically, if a perfect peg and a perfect hole had the EXACT same diameter (I know this isn't possible, but this is more of a theoretical physical property question), would the peg fit in the hole, not fit, neither, or both?

I once heard that forming antibodies against blood types other than your own was because of exposure to gut flora with similar antigens. If this is the case, what prevents a type A person from making anti-A if the bacteria are there just like they would be in a type B?
