Given the myths involving ferry passage to the Underworld, how common were passenger ferries in antiquity? Would anyone have frequent commutes that a ferry business was viable? How would you charter a ferry or do you just hire whatever boat was at the dock?

Was the use of "olive" to describe someone's skin tone because of the color of the olives or due to some belief at the time that that those of the Mediterranean got their tan from the olives?

A medieval king has a champion to personally fight for him in addition to his army. Was this common in medieval times? What separates a champion from a skilled, high ranking soldier? Outside coronation, what duties and roles were expected? Were they ever day to day personal bodyguards?
