I have got a flat rock underneath my snakes heating lamp and heard mixed reviews about it, some saying it is really bad and can burn your snake and some saying it is really good for them.

I have just moved my corn snake into a larger viv (4x2x2) and have installed a new uvb bulb and it is incredibly bright. Is there any way to reduce this light.
