Why were some (many?) foreign SS units, like the Waffen-SS unit Charlemagne, so fanatical, that they fought until the literal end, even going so far as to defend Berlin, while other, German, SS units retreated or surrendered?

What was the point of medium and light bombers like the He111? Dive bombers like the Ju87 were super useful against ground targets but bombers like the He111 had the same targets as strategic bombers like the B17 but with alot less payload. So whats the point?

Why were the German naming conventions for its OOB so weird and senseless? It seems that many divisions corps, army, brigades, etc... had random numbers attached to them instead of just having them in order, e.g. 1. Infanterie-Division, 2. Infanterie-Division...
