My partner is curious about her African ancestry and loves mythology, but I know there is far less known about West African myths than say Greece or Mesopotamia. Where is a good place for me to start digging?

Jesus of Nazareth is often depicted with long hair and a full beard, however I have read that it would be more likely that he had shorter hair and a beard. What were the fashion/grooming habits of 1st century Jews in the holy land? Is Jesus having long hair more of an artistic tradition?

Viking long ship design seems to slightly resemble Mediterranean trireme ships from earlier eras. Is there any evidence that trireme ship design influenced Norse cultures, or vice versa?
