The Roman state, be it in the form of Kingdom, Republic or empire stood for hundreds of years. During that time, it must have built up a national identity within its many subjects. How long after it's collapse did people continue to identify as Roman, and when did the last "Romans" finally die off?

I remember hearing about how the Manhatten project was heavily infiltrated by the soviets, and that made me wonder, how serious of a threat to america was pre cold war esponage? Was there any pre cold war events of America being seriously compromised by forgien agents?

Dubbed shellshock in world war 1, PTSD has been a tragically common issue on the modern battlefield. However, it must have existed before hand even if stigmatized. How common are accounts of pre ww1 wartime trauma? Especially in Pre gunpowder warfare.

Multiple empires had managed to spread the Greek pantheon across most of the known world. How did the Greco-Roman religion manage to go from one of the most followed on the planet, to being driven into obscurity by Christianity in a few hundred years, why did this never happen to its replacement?
