I stumbled upon an old NYT article describing research conducted by blasting a forest with ridiculous amounts of radiation. It is exceedingly fascinating, but the article is shallow. Could anyone point me to additional research regarding such research?

With regards to heat exchange, at which water temperature range can an (almost) fully submerged human at rest exist indefinitely and/or comfortably?
