I was reading Robert Graves's 'I, Claudius' and it talks about masters leaving sick slaves at the Temple of Aesculapius, which seems to be a real phenomena. Do we know any more about how that worked logistically? Did other temples perform these kind of extra service?

Do historians of Ancient Greece still see Oliganthropia as a major cause of the decline of the Spartans and have there been any major changes in the perception of population control in ancient Greece?
